PROFILE: MR. JOSEPH ASHLEY-OSUZOKA
GENERAL SECRETARY
Mr. Joseph Ashley-Osuzoka is a highly accomplished business leader with a distinguished career in finance, human resources, investment management, capital markets, and information technology. His experience encompasses both the Nigerian and US markets, demonstrating a consistent commitment to driving organizational excellence and strategic growth.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management from the University of Lagos and a Higher National Diploma from Yaba College of Technology. He furthered his education with a Master of Arts in Human Resource Development and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Management Information Systems at Bowie State University. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation Nigeria, a Registered Professional Member of Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, a Certified Financial Consultant (CFC), a Project Management Professional (PMP), and a Certified Scrum Master (SCM). He is also a Licensed Insurance Producer in Maryland and a commissioned Notary Public.
Mr. Ashley-Osuzoka held senior leadership roles at prominent financial institutions, including Falcon Mortgage Finance Ltd, Falcon Securities Ltd, and the BGL Group. As Deputy Managing Director and Executive Director of Retail & Wealth Management at BGL Securities Ltd, he oversaw a securities portfolio exceeding $12.3 billion, significantly contributing to the company's position as a top ten player on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. His leadership expanded BGL's market share in the Mid-West Region from 10% to 40% within two years.
He played a pivotal role in major transactions at BGL and orchestrated development of innovative financial products, such as BGL Proprietary Trading and BGL Guaranteed Consolidated Notes.
Mr. Ashley-Osuzoka is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria, the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a long-standing member of the prestigious Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos, Nigeria.
He is deeply committed to community service. He actively volunteers with Fly by Nature Washington DC and the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in Bowie, Maryland. He has held leadership positions within the Men of Valor group and contributed to various community outreach initiatives.
