PROFILE: MRS DEBORAH OLUYEMI TEWOGBADE
MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY
Mrs. Deborah Oluyemi Tewogbade, FCTI was born in Ibadan, Oyo State to the family of Chief and Deaconness S.A. Afolabi Oni of Okerena Oke-Imesi Eketi, Ekiti State on the December 26, 1963.
She attended Christ Apostolic Church Primary School Sango, Ibadan in the year 1974-1980 and proceeded to Awotan/Araromi Community High School Awotan Ibadan in the year 1980-1985 as the pioneer student. She served as the Games Prefect for two years and Senior Prefect for the remaining three years spent in secondary school. She sat for West African School Certificate in the year 1985/86 session and passed with distinction in all her papers. She was awarded the best student in Oyo State in May 1984 by the then Ministry of Education with a Gold Medal.
She was awarded the best-behaved student in Awotan/ Araromi Community High School for the 3rd time in 1985. She gained admission to the Polytechnic, Ibadan where she studied Insurance and got certificate of Ordinary Diploma with Distinction in the year 1992. She went for Industrial Training with an Insurance Company in Ilorin where she was awarded the best IT student ever employed in the State in the year 1993. After a year of IT, she was given admission for a Higher National Diploma in the same Polytechnic of Ibadan in the year 1993 - 1995 and graduated with Upper Credit. Due to the seeming disparities between HND and BSc in the Civil Service, she decided to start all over again and went for BSc Accounting programme at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, graduating with 2nd Class Upper Division in 2004. She proceeded to obtain her master’s in business administration with specialization in Human Resources in 2014 from LAUTECH.
She did her NYSC Service in Oyo State at NYSC secretariat as the Corp Liasion officer. She embarked on sixteen (16) personal projects which gave her outstanding performance to be the best Corper of the year in 1996 and was given both presidential and Governorship awards which earned her automatic appointment into Oyo State Civil Service on November 19th 1997 as Principal Tax Assistant IV Grade Level 8. She retired from Oyo State Civil Service as Director, Commercial and Customer Care Services of Water Corporation of Oyo State in the year 2022 before she relocated to USA. In August 2015, she was nominated as the Vice President of Insurance Student Association 1994/95 set and has been performing wonderfully on the seat. She is a committed member of the Rotary Club of Ibadan metro Kakanfo Inn.
In the year 2005, she became an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Taxation and since then, she has been fully participating in all CITN programmes. She became a Committee Member of Social & Welfare in the year 2008 through 2011 and served the Institute at Annual Tax Conference Committee from 2012 till 2019.
She is a committed member of the CITN Ibadan District and Society. She served as the Social and Publicity committee in Ibadan District for four years and became deputy coordinator of SWIT for two years before she became the 3rd SWIT Chairperson from 2015 to 2019.
She became a Fellow of the Institute in the year 2011 and remained an active member of CITN both at National and District Level before relocating to USA.
She is presently working as an accounting officer of a reputable company in Maryland.
Mrs Deborah Oluyemi Tewogbade is an amiable, hardworking, eloquent, efficient, elegant goal getter. She is a visionary leader and an achiever. She is married to Mr Tewogbade Y.A and blessed with three wonderful and glorious children and grand Children.
